About Dr. Paulos
Leon "Lonnie" Paulos, M.D., is one of the top orthopedic surgeons in America today. With over 30 years of experience, he provides advanced treatments for patients with sports and orthopedic injuries. His patients range from professional athletes to those who enjoy active lifestyles and want to ensure the best possible recovery from injuries with the least amount of down time.

His decades of professional experience and dedication to the betterment of the orthopedic profession have had a profound impact on the surgical procedures in this medical field. Dr. Paulos performs minimally invasive surgeries with the goal of reducing patient rehabilitation time.

After earning a Bachelor of Science in Zoology at the University of Utah, Dr. Paulos received his medical degree from the University of Utah School of Medicine, graduating in the top five percent of his class. He possesses certification from the American Board of Orthopaedic Surgery. Garnering attention from the international medical community for his work developing new orthopedic procedures and surgical devices, he presently sits on numerous editorial boards. He is a former recipient of the O'Donoghue Sports Injury Research Award.

Dr. Paulos is now in private practice in Salt Lake City, Utah, at the Paulos Sports Injury and Joint Preservation Clinic.

He has offered medical support to various professional and college football, basketball, and other sport teams, and also the United States Freestyle Ski Team. Dr. Paulos contributes to homeless shelters in Salt Lake City and Pensacola, Florida, and he also supports the Natural History Museum of Utah.

My philosophy is to establish the safest and most effective way of returning patients to normal lifestyles, athletics and work. Over the years, I have developed minimally invasive techniques and devices to assist patients in full recovery without prolonged rehabilitation and/or increased expenses related to lost work time.
